Wow, is it humid! There's a warm heaviness to the air, almost like a blanket. Dense greenery everywhere, gray Spanish moss hanging from the trees and swamps that hold who knows what. Unfamiliar birds and bugs are making a lot of noise and I'm keeping Hannah on a short leash. Every now and then a nice breeze comes through and then it pours rain for about 10-15 minutes before the sun comes back out. I like it!
I came up the gulf coast over the last few days, enjoying the ocean air. Stopped near Galveston for a routine oil change and tire rotation and mechanic discovered a power steering pump leak. A couple of hours (and $$) later, I was back on the road toward Seabrook and spent the evening wandering the Kemah Boardwalk and Pier. Tomorrow I'll leave the coast and head north through Mississippi.

Doesn't this just make you smile? |

I'm not sure I'd swim in Lake Charles but Hannah didn't hesitate |

ok, this is weird |

Even weirder for her, live ducks were wandering around the Bass Pro Shop and then all these perfectly still wild animals |
